Our Journey

From Sri Lanka, back to Sri Lanka.

Every company has an origin story. Ours is a person's — a journey that came full circle, and it doesn't begin where you might expect.

A message from our founder

Why we started INVORG Sri Lanka.

My life has come full circle — from Sri Lanka, and back to Sri Lanka.

My life didn't begin in London. London was one transit point in my journey.

The seeds of social justice were planted in me here, in Sri Lanka. My first visit to the upcountry in 1974 — where I stayed in the line homes — opened my eyes to the plight of my brothers and sisters there.

In the years that followed, I tried to answer what I had seen. I opened the first full-day private Pre-University College (PUC), to help A/L students who had not yet entered university in their first two attempts. I created full scholarships for students who could not access quality education in their schools, or afford private tuition. And I helped found the 4S — Students, Science & Social Services — Club, so that high-school students could learn, early, the importance of giving back.

And, not least, the hardship inflicted on me — and on millions of other Sri Lankans, from every community — by the policies and the corrupt leadership of the past, opened my eyes to just how deeply social justice matters.

I owe my deepest gratitude to everything I gained from Sri Lanka.

Forming INVORG Sri Lanka is my way of showing that gratitude — of giving back to my motherland.
